Simo Häyhä, aka The White Death was a Finnish sniper who served during The Winter War between 1925 and 1940. He helped to defend Finland from Soviet invaders. Over the course of just 100 days, Simo racked up over 500 confirmed sniper kills, as well as an additional 200 with his Suomi 9mm SMG. To prevent giving away his firing position with the glare of a scope, Häyhä used only the iron sights on his rifle. The Soviets attempted many counter measures to stop him, all of which failed. An opposing sniper struck him in the jaw with an exploding round, putting him in an 11 day coma. He woke up the day the war ended.
