Add External Stylesheets/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as <link>s in order, and before the CSS in the editor. If you link to another Pen, it will include the CSS from that Pen. If the preprocessor matches, it will attempt to combine them before processing.

+ add another resource

You're using npm packages, so we've auto-selected Babel for you here, which we require to process imports and make it all work. If you need to use a different JavaScript preprocessor, remove the packages in the npm tab.

Add External Scripts/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as <script>s in order, and run before the JavaScript in the editor. You can use the URL of any other Pen and it will include the JavaScript from that Pen.

Use npm Packages

We can make npm packages available for you to use in your JavaScript. We use webpack to prepare them and make them available to import. We'll also process your JavaScript with Babel.

 * Exercise:
 * Use the ipinfo API to retrieve the user's estimated location
 * and center the Google Map at that location. Zoom in and
 * set a marker.
 * Optional:
 * Add an info window with the details (IP, location, city, etc.).
 * The ipinfo API:
 * https://ipinfo.io/developers
 * The Google Maps API:
 * https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/tutorial?hl=en
 * Important:
 * You need to get your own Google Maps API key, from the Developer Console
 * that you can find at https://console.developers.google.com
 * The JavaScript code below is to give you a hint for the general setup,
 * but it should be included in the class(es) that you write. Minimum 1
 * class should be written. If you write a seperate one for the API
 * that a plus.

class googleMapsAPI {
  constructor() {
    this.ipUrl = 'https://ipinfo.io/json';

  registerEvents() {
  getData() {
        let ipUrl = this.ipUrl;
          .done(data => {
            const latLng = data.loc;
            const location = latLng.split(',');
            this.googleMap(data, location)
  googleMap(data, location) {
          let GPS = {lat:Number(location[0]), lng: Number(location[1])};
          let map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById('map'), {
            zoom: 7,
            center: GPS

        let content = `<h6>${data.city} : </h6>
          <p>IP : ${data.ip}</p>
          <p>Plz : ${data.postal}</p>
          <p>Host Name : ${data.hostname}</p>`;

        let contentWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({
          content: content

        let marker = new google.maps.Marker({
          position: GPS,
          map: map
        marker.addListener('click', function() {
          contentWindow.open(map, marker);
  callback(data) {
    if (typeof data !== 'undefined' ||typeof data !== null) {
      return true;
    else if (typeof data === 'undefined' ||typeof data === null) {
      return false;
  showResults(data) {
  showError() {

new googleMapsAPI();
🕑 One or more of the npm packages you are using needs to be built. You're the first person to ever need it! We're building it right now and your preview will start updating again when it's ready.
