What's the role
We are looking for a Team Lead with strong leadership and management experience to join the agency and lead our small but talented technology team. With strong, broad experience across a variety of technologies you’ll oversee our current work priorities and new projects, as well as champion technology and innovation across the wider agency.
What you’ll be doing…
Leading the organisation in terms of technology, ensuring the highest quality of work and identifying opportunities to innovate and improve.
Overseeing the maintenance of over 40 of our current websites.
Leading the scoping of new projects, ensuring full understanding of technical considerations and necessary timescales.
Overseeing any outsourced projects with a different development team.
Reviewing code and managing codebases where needed.
Mentoring and coaching a small team of talented, forward-thinking developers, supporting them to deliver their best at all times.
Building and maintaining relationships with the design team, ensuring the process of wireframing and design of web applications meet any technical requirements/considerations (e.g. accessibility, how the website scales, responsiveness etc.).
Staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and inspiring your team to do the same
What we need from you…
A broad experience in working across a variety of technologies. In particular:
Previous experience running a technology team.
Experience contributing to, and achieving, continuous improvement goals. Individually and as part of a team
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly, even when under pressure, and explain complex technical concepts to those with less technical knowledge.
Engage confidently with management and stakeholders at all levels.
A hands-on leader with a passion for knowledge sharing, innovative thinking and code.
Able to adapt positively to changes, both within your work and within the company.
Able to understand trends and practices outside your team and how these will impact their work.
