Why Jon inspires me:

Jon Kabat-Zinn has been a huge inspiration in my life, and his teachings on mindfulness have helped me to practice staying calm and in the moment during some of the most stressful times in my life. Often times we become caught up in things that have happened in the past, or things that might happen in the future, but that only causes grief and anxiety, because the only thing we can really have any control over is the current moment. In order to be truly free, you must let go of the things that are out of your control, and focus your energy on making incremental and meaningful changes to your current situation. This can only be done if you are existing in the present, and mindfulness is a wonderful tool for accomplishing this.
