overflow-clip-margin
Demo

This demo showcases a use case of the CSS
overflow: clip
and
overflow-clip-margin
properties, by applying them to a row of buttons with tooltips.

I use
overflow: clip
to prevent horizontal overflow of the button wrappers, and
overflow-clip-margin
to prevent the button outlines from getting clipped.

Hover or focus on Button One of each button row below to compare the difference of how the outline appears between a button wrapper with the
overflow-clip-margin
CSS property and without.

The stylesheet and JavaScript of the tooltips are from Scott O'Hara's ARIA Tooltips.

This demo has been referenced by Ahmad Shadeed in his Overflow Clip article. Thank you for the shout-out, Ahmad!
