Add External Stylesheets/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as <link>s in order, and before the CSS in the editor. If you link to another Pen, it will include the CSS from that Pen. If the preprocessor matches, it will attempt to combine them before processing.

+ add another resource

You're using npm packages, so we've auto-selected Babel for you here, which we require to process imports and make it all work. If you need to use a different JavaScript preprocessor, remove the packages in the npm tab.

Add External Scripts/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as <script>s in order, and run before the JavaScript in the editor. You can use the URL of any other Pen and it will include the JavaScript from that Pen.

+ add another resource

Use npm Packages

We can make npm packages available for you to use in your JavaScript. We use webpack to prepare them and make them available to import. We'll also process your JavaScript with Babel.

Save Automatically?

If active, Pens will autosave every 30 seconds after being saved once.

Auto-Updating Preview

If enabled, the preview panel updates automatically as you code. If disabled, use the "Run" button to update.

<div id="tribute-info">Miyamoto Musashi (宮本 武蔵, c. 1584 – June 13, 1645), also known as Shinmen Takezō, Miyamoto Bennosuke or,
by his Buddhist name, Niten Dōraku,[1] was a Japanese swordsman, philosopher, strategist, writer and rōnin. Musashi, as he was often
simply known, became renowned through stories of his unique double-bladed swordsmanship and undefeated record in his 61 duels
(next is 33 by Itō Ittōsai). He is considered the Kensei, sword-saint of Japan.[2] He was the founder of the Niten-Ichi-Ryū-School
or Nito-Ichi-ryū style of swordsmanship, and in his final years authored The Book of Five Rings (五輪の書 Go Rin No Sho), and Dokkōdō
(The Path of Aloneness). Both documents were given to Terao Magonojō, the most important of Musashi's students, seven days before
Musashi's death. The Book of Five Rings deals primarily with the character of his Niten-Ichi-Ryū-School in a concrete sense e.g. his
own practical martial art and its generic significance; The Path of Aloneness on the other hand, deals with the ideas that lie behind
it, as well as his life's philosophy in a few short aphoristic sentences.</div>
        <ul id="list">
His book "Book of five rings consists of:
<li>1. The Book of Earth chapter serves as an introduction, and metaphorically discusses martial arts, leadership, and training as building a house.</li>
<li>2. The Book of Water chapter describes Musashi's style, Ni-ten ichi-ryu, or "Two Heavens, One Style". It describes some basic technique and fundamental principles.</li>
<li>3. The Book of Fire chapter refers to the heat of battle, and discusses matters such as different types of timing.</li>
<li>4. The Book of Wind chapter is something of a pun, since the Japanese character can mean both "wind" and "style" (e.g., of martial arts).
It discusses what Musashi considers to be the failings of various contemporary schools of sword fighting.</li>
<li>5.The Book of the Void chapter is a short epilogue, describing, in more esoteric terms, Musashi's probably Zen-influenced thoughts on consciousness and the correct mindset.</li>

// You may add additional external JS and CSS as needed to complete the project, however the current external resource MUST remain in place for the tests to work. BABEL must also be left in place.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  - Select the project you would
like to complete from the dropdown
    menu.
  - Click the "RUN TESTS" button to
run the tests against the blank
    pen.
  - Click the "TESTS" button to see
    the individual test cases.
(should all be failing at first)
  - Start coding! As you fulfill each
test case, you will see them go
    from red to green.
  - As you start to build out your
    project, when tests are failing,
    you should get helpful errors
    along the way!

// PLEASE NOTE: Adding global style rules using the * selector, or by adding rules to body {..} or html {..}, or to all elements within body or html, i.e. h1 {..}, has the potential to pollute the test suite's CSS. Try adding: * { color: red }, for a quick example!
