Ganon is the incarnation of evil, originally born in the Gerudo Valley, ancient even before the events that led to the construction of the Divine Beasts 10,000 years ago. Holder of the Triforce of Power, he is mighty, legendary, and near-immortal. His familiarity due to being defeated by the Divine Beasts, and the weilders of the Courage and Wisdom Triforces greatly aided him in conquering the intended pilots of the Divine Beasts at this time.

Ganon is currently being contained by Princess Zelda at Hyrule castle, and has been for the last 100 years as Link, the chosen of the Sword that Seals the Darkness recovered from near mortal wounds suffered when Ganon manifested yet again. As Zelda's seal weakened over the last century Ganon's influence has become stronger, and more pervasive across Hyrule. This allows him to ressurect slain monsters during the Blood Moon, and create more powerful versions of them to match Link's restoration, and progression.
