        <li><strong> 1978</strong> Kobe Bryant was born in Philadelphia,the youngest of three children and only son of former NBA player Joe Bryant and Pamela Cox Bryant.</li>
        <li><strong>1981-1991</strong>Bryant started playing basketball when he was three, and the Lakers were his favorite team when he was growing up. Kobe moved to Italy at the age of 6 and became fluent in Italian. Bryant began to play basketball seriously while living in Reggio Emilia.  During summers, Bryant would come back to the United States to play in a basketball summer league. When Bryant was 13, he and his family moved back to Philadelphia, where he enrolled in eighth grade at Bala Cynwyd Middle School.</li>
        <li><strong>1992-1996</strong> Kobe Bryant earned national recognition during a spectacular high school career. Bryant became the first freshmen in years to play on the varsity team. Bryant played all five positions. His junior year he averaged 31.1 points, 10.4 rebounds,5.2 assists, 3.8 blocks and 2.3 steals and was nammed Pennsylvania Player of the Year while also earning fourth team Parade All American Nomination. His record attracted alot of top colleges however after high schooler Kevin Garnett joined the NBA Kobe Bryant contemplated going directly to the Pros. At Addidas ABCD Camp Bryant earned the 1995 senior MVP award. Bryant received several awards for his outstanding performance during his senior year at Lower Merion, this included being named <em>Naismith High School Player of the Year, Gatorade Men's National Basketball Player of the Year, McDonald's All-American, first team Parade All-American</em> and <em>All-USA First Team Player</em></li>
        <li><strong>1996 NBA Draft</strong> Kobe Bryant at the age of 17 was drafted into the Los Angeles Lakers. Since Bryant was still 17 at the time, his parents had to cosign his contract with the Lakers until he was able to sign his own when he turned 18 before the season began. Bryant signed a three year rookie contract totaling 3.5 million.</li>
          <li><strong>1996-2016</strong> Kobe Bryant had an amazing career playing for the Los Angeles Lakers. As a rookie, Bryant earned a reputation as a high-glyer and a fan favorite by winning the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest and was named All-Star by his second season. He was a five time NBA champion, two time NBA Finals MVP, NBA Most Valuable Player, eighteen time NBA All Star, four time NBA All Star Game MVP, two time NBA scoring champion and NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion. Bryant was the all-time leading scorer in Lakers franchise history and he was also the first guard in NBA history to play at least 20 seasons.</li>
            <li><strong>2020</strong> Kobe Bryant died at age 41 along with 13 year old daughter Gianna and seven others, due to blunt force trauma sustained from a helicopter crash in Calabassses, California. A number of tributes and memorials were subsequently issued, while the All-Star Game MVP award was renamed in his honor. </li>
