I have never wrote a blog post before so this will be the first! I recently read a post by Rachel Smith called “Last Year I Joined CodePen. What Happened Next Will Blow You Away.” (great name by the way) and it got me thinking about how much I would like to be known for some of my works within the CodePen community and also stretch to the outside web.

I have been here for only a little while now (less than a year I think) and have come to absolutely love this site, some of the pens I have seen are insane! I didn’t even know some of it was even possible to create using only HTML, CSS and JavaScript! It has given me such inspiration to create many of my own pens and continue to learn more about what can be done with web development. For this I thank each and every one of you that have created and/or viewed a pen. I just wanted to write this little blog post to introduce myself to the amazing community on CodePen. So please allow me!

My name is Alex Rutherford, I am currently a web developer at Scania. I was mainly working with web forms and a few front end developments but that has since changed into a full time part in IOS development (still yet have to change my job title). I am using CodePen as a place to keep my frontend development skills alive and to share whatever it is I create to the world!

I would like to share one of my proudest pens, your comments have been amazing and the amount of hearts I got for this really has made me unbelievable happy.

I look forward to what this New Year come up as to offer and what amazing pens I will see. I hope to release some new pens soon so keep an eye out!

Keep up the great work guys,

Alex Rutherford
