          <li><strong>1975</strong> - Slava was born in Mukachevo, Western Ukraine in the family of physisists</li>
          <li><strong>1981 - 1991</strong> - Slava is a pupil of Lviv Linguistic Gymnasium. He attends the Music School as well, studying to play the violin and accordion. The boy is one of the organizers of the school theater</li>
          <li><strong>1991 - 1996</strong> - Vakarchuk follows in his father's footsteps by enrolling at Lviv University after I.Franko, the Faculty of Theoretical Physics</li>
          <li><strong>2003</strong> - Slava gets his second degree in International Economics from Lviv University</li>
          <li><strong>2007-2008</strong> - Slava becomes a politician. In the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) he is a member of the parliamentary committee for freedom of speech questions. In early September 2008, he renounces his seat in the Verkhovna
            Rada due to the political situation</li>
          <li><strong>2009</strong> - Slava defends his PhD thesis in Physics&Maths on the topic "Supersymmetry electrons in an electromagnetic field"</li>

        <ul>
          <li><strong>1994 - 1999</strong> - Founded in 1994 the band give their first concert in front of the Lviv Opera Theatre on January 14, 1995. The band's huge success comes in 1998, when they move to Kiev and their first album "Tam, de nas nema" ("There,
            where we are not") is released the same year.</li>
          <li><strong>2000 - 2004</strong> - The band become popular in Russia after rock festival "Nashestvie" in 2000. The third album "Model" (2001) is considered to be the best by fans. The next, forth album "Supersymmetry" (2003) becomes double platinum</li>
          <li><strong>2005 - present</strong> - Five more albums are released including the latest <a href="http://okeanelzy.com/en/bezmezh/" target="_blank">"Bez mezh" ("Without limits") (2016).</a> In 2010 OE goes on their Dolce Vita Tour, which includes
            over 100 concerts in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Europe and North America.</li>
          <li><strong>June 21, 2014</strong> - For their 20th anniversary Okean Elzy performs in front of 70,000 fans in Kyiv at NSC Olimpiyskiy. This concert is the most massive in Ukrainian history.</li>

        <h2>Social and Political Activities</h2> As an activist, Slava supported the 2004 Orange Revolution and 2013 Euromaydan in Ukraine. He is founder of the non-profit “Lyudi Maybutnyogo” (People of the Future). Alongside members of his band, he actively supported MTV and the UN International
        Organization for Migration’s campaign “People Are Not For Sale.” <br>In 2003, Slava became an Honorary Ambassador of Culture in Ukraine. In 2005 he was named a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme and became a member
        of the Parliamentary Committee on Freedom of Expression and Information. In September 2008, he renounced his seat in the Verkhovna Rada party due to a corrupt political climate. The Ukrainian magazine Korrespondent ranks him as one of the 100
        most influential people of Ukraine.
