        <p>Carl Sagan was a famous American astronomer and popularizer of science. His incredible life was characterized by a burning curiousity about, and passion for, the universe around him. He was one of the most quintessentially human people to have
          lived in the 20th century, and his loss in 1996 was a loss for all humanity.</p>

        <ul><strong>Sagan's Life</strong><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1934</span> Sagan is born in New York City.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1939</span> Attends the New York World's Fair and is inspired by science.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1954-60</span> Recieves several degrees, including a PhD from the University of Chicago.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1969-71</span> Sagan is one of the experts tapped to brief the Apollo astronauts before their historic voyages into space.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1972</span> Pioneer 10 launches. It is the first spacecraft destined to leave the solar system. Sagan designs a gold anodized plaque with a message from Earth to be attached to the spacecraft.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1974</span> In conjunction with Frank Drake, Sagan helps design the function that would later come to be known as the Drake Equation. A mathematical equation for calculating the abundance of life in the galaxy.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1980</span> Along with Lou Friedman and Bruce Murray, Sagan founds the <a href="http://www.planetary.org">Planetary Society</a>, The world's largest space-advocacy group.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1980</span> Sagan produces and stars in the revolutionary documentary <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosmos:_A_Personal_Voyage">"Cosmos: A Personal Voyage"</a> which is eventually watched by more than
            1 billion people worldwide.</li><br>
          <li><span class="label label-primary">1996</span> Sagan dies of a rare blood cancer. He is buried in Ithica, New York.</li>
