Add External Stylesheets/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as
s in order, and before the CSS in the editor. If you link to another Pen, it will include the CSS from that Pen. If the preprocessor matches, it will attempt to combine them before processing.

+ add another resource

You're using npm packages, so we've auto-selected Babel for you here, which we require to process imports and make it all work. If you need to use a different JavaScript preprocessor, remove the packages in the npm tab.

Add External Scripts/Pens

Any URL's added here will be added as s in order, and run before the JavaScript in the editor. You can use the URL of any other Pen and it will include the JavaScript from that Pen.

Use npm Packages

We can make npm packages available for you to use in your JavaScript. We use webpack to prepare them and make them available to import. We'll also process your JavaScript with Babel.

Here are some of Huxley's notable milestones:

Born on July 26th, 1894 in Godalming, Surrey, England.

A notable novelist whose work was trully imaginative and intellectually demanding.

Among some of his most notable works one can find books such as "Crome Yellow", "Island", "Point Counter Point" and "The Doors of Perception".

His most celebrated novel, however, is "Brave New World", a dystpoian story centred around a fully-functioning yet morbidlly sad futuristic world society, whose individuals are kept happy under the influence of happiness drugs and designed rules for all aspects of life.

Huxley was an enthusiastic supporter of chemical and hallucinagetic drugs, in particular LSD, which he personally used on numerous ocassions.

Huxley's vision of the world's future stands in deep contrast to that of his contemporary, George Orwell. Whereas Orwell suggested a bleaker depiction of further capitalistic-faschism, Huxley sustained that the people would doom themselves, through entertainment and the like, thus freely giving up their rights, privacy, and descending into a "near-human" status.

Along the lines of what we see today, it's understandable that his opinions of society and the world are to be taken seriously.

On the personal side of life, it's important to mention that Huxley struggled with sight-problems throughout his life.

He was married twice and his most recent wife was Laura (Archera) Huxley

He won several awards for his works, and movie adaptations were made from his novels.

He died, willingly under the influence of LSD, on Novemver 22nd, 1963.
