Who is the Web Designer/Developer?

The Web Designer/Developer, always has their finger on the pulse of the Provident Web site and of Provident Credit Union marketing strategy. They manage, plan, coordinate and implement Web developments and site enhancements to improve UI/UX and encourage greater member self-service. They enhance the site by identifying trends and opportunities. Their incremental development style and rigorous testing ensure quality code. The Web Designer/Developer also supports the Marketing Department by accommodating requests for new content and promotions on the Web site.

Here’s what you can expect day to day:

As Web Designer/Developer, you will perform ongoing audits and updates of PCU Web sites to ensure current information, maximize efficiency, and improve content, design and usability. In partnership with the VP of Marketing and the Web Communications Director, you will ensure that Web initiatives are integrated with overall marketing plans and branding strategy. You will make sure Web site content is accurate and current, which includes writing copy and recruiting subject matter experts as needed. Participation in teams related to e-commerce and Web-related projects will be a key part of your responsibilities. In addition, you will communicate with internal and external clients as an active and supportive member of the marketing team.

What you’ll bring to the position:

The Web Designer/Developer is a self-starter with stellar analytical, creative, strategic, technical and organizational skills. Successful candidates will have expertise with CSS, vanilla JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, XML, and HTML5 for front-end development. Ability to use traditional ASP and vbscript for some back-end scripting, or strong PHP experience with aptitude for learning traditional ASP and vbscript. Must have excellent English language and copywriting/editing skills. Successful candidates will have experience building and maintaining large web sites used by demanding end-user and development of responsive, intuitive and robust web layouts and user interfaces. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
